What
We've Accomplished
Rebuilding
our Nations
Indigenous
elders met at Big Bead and Nambe, New Mexico, in October 1999. This
meeting was mandated by the Sacred Hopi and Mayan Prophesies, and
the First and Second Reunion of the Indigenous Elders and Priests
of America.
We
met to:
Elect
our own Elder Council representatives,
To listen to the prophecies and ancestral wisdom of our southern
brothers and sisters concerning what is happening to their people
and their environment,
To share our own prophesies and wisdom and
To establish an organized, unified working relationship with our
southern brothers and sisters to help heal our people, Mother Earth,
and all living things.
At
a gathering in January 2002 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a historic
exchange of prophecies and spiritual messages occurred among many
North American tribes. At this gathering, 32 spiritual leaders,
teachers and prophets from 21 tribes prayed for a vision of a better
world for our people. Also, the elders endorsed a resolution from
the Confederacy of Six Nations in Canada that a sacred ride and
run titled the International Unity Ride and Run will open the Elders
Summit 2004 at Six Nations of the Grand River. The women have requested
that grandmothers be honored throughout the duration of the ride
to restore balance within the nations, and that the men carry a
staff representing their nation. In preparation, each representative
shall prepare spiritually to undertake their role and responsibility
as a rider and a runner.
